Hell of a Final

Oh yeah,it's again got to do with my passion !!!!! ofcourse Cricket :). Hmm hell of a day !It was a match i could'nt afford to miss.yes we(Flippers club) were in Finals of the tournment organized by us and it was against DD11(Neo sports) which is one of our most formidable opponets with great palyers. It had poured heavily last night and i doubted conditions of play because of the wet ground. Morning i got up early went straight ahead to Shandar Kirmani's(Club mate and amazing alrounder) office and reached our grounds along with him in his car well before time.Other team had not arived till then. Luckily it turned out to be sunny day and ground slowly started drying up and was a good sign for fair play.Had good amount of warmup and it was time for Toss which we lost unfortunately and Neo sports decided to bowl first. Our start was bad,we lost one of our opener right in the 2nd over and later runs dried up completely and we started losing wickets in regular intervals without much runs on the board. We were around 85 for 7 when i got in and we were in bad shape.I just told myself "stay positive" and worry about nothing or about getting out.Took a long breath and took my straike at 17 over.Got couple of runs in the first ball followed by few more couples.I was feeling good and siezed upon that confidence and went for my regulat shots.Got couple of sixes and boundaries in flurry and by the time we were done with stipulated 20 overs, i had made 30 runs of 13 balls which gave me immense sense of satisfation and relief in contributing for teams cause. The Traget was set and it was 129,less a for an opponent like Neo sports but again its cricket and within mater of couple of bowls game will change.Neo sports begun the chase and i opened up the bowling.First and second over was good by just conceding 3 and 5 runs respectively. But in the 3rd i had to change the bolwing end as there was a bit of problem with mat at other end which i was bowling. I ended up conceding 10 runs and over all i was with figures of 19 runs in 3 overs bu not bad for a 20/20 cricket:):).I knew i could have done lot better with my recent form.Unlucky me -got injured my thigh during my 3rd over and was back to pavilion for few over and was back by 14th over.Match was getting tesnsed and Neo sports had problems scoring with ease and lost 6 wickests in the proces.Enter, last for overs where in they reqired 26 of 24 balls and in next 12 needed 14.Kiran was given the ball and i was picked to bowl the last over.Unluckily one miss hit resulted in 6 follwoed by 4's and we lost the match after 19 overs. So close but so faaaaaaaaaar for the trophy. But end of the day it was a good game with quite tense moments and we had given a very good fight inspite of our low score.First time i didnt feel much sad after losing this finals, and i donno what exactly the reason is???? but may be that i understood spirit of the game is always above winning or losing and its all about playing with best of efforts and with passion.Longggg live FLIPPERS and we Rock.

Back to basics

Yeah,I never imagined myself without cricket for all these years.Had been integral part of my life and was always my first love.
But, Work started taking toll on my cricketing life. Had a role change ,and there came the change in my life style too.I had to leterally forget the word "weekend".Since 3 months i had been slogging all 7 days a week travelling and busy with Recruitment drives.
At lost, today i feel way too great as i got an off , which helped me to get back to my basics.Yes nothing but chance to play a a match again with my beloved club "Flippers".
Day was great with steady cool weather,a perfect one any sportsman prefer for outdoor. Was in high spirits mentally, but my body was stiff and i was asked to open the bowling for my side.Wasnt bad even though with a bit of sluggish start,i bowled 4 overs and conceded around 23 runs with 1 wicket. Ended up with couple of good catches too.
We lost the macth without much of difficulty though :) ,but again never felt good to have myself back in to the ground.
Hope to continue to play all weeekends heceforth.
Oops i shall never fail to mention about the cricket club i am associated with "Fliipers".Yes its a private club with its own ground near Yalahanka.Proper landmark would be near Delhi Public school.
This club was found almost about 6 years back, where in every sunday matches will be organized against invited division leavel teams.it ranges from 20-35 overs a side.
Unfortunately we lost couple of our senior members in a mishap whcih changed the course of the club and many regulars stopped playing which took a tll on smooth functioning of the club.
Luckily we have got together again adn have started playing and looking for new prospect members too who have passion towords cricket.
Any of you,If any of you or your frineds, relatives who are lling to play on sundays can contact me any time on 9886177921 or on rahilzubin@gmail.com . One time membership fee would be 1500 and monthly would be RS 500 PM.
I just reached home, had a hair cut adn a bath adn was relaxing witha custord pudding adn my phone ringed to delver a sad news.My coleague Immanual who use to works as a .NET lead got drowned near muttatti and body is still not recovered.
